MetaMask warns Apple users over iCloud phishing attacks

The owner of the cryptocurrency wallet provider MetaMask, owned by ConsenSys, has sent a warning to the community about phishing attacks on Apple iCloud.

The security issue for iPhone, Mac, and iPad users is related to the default device settings, which detect a user’s password as a “password-encrypted MetaMask” stored in iCloud when automatic backup of its application’s data is enabled.

In a Twitter thread released on Monday, MetaMask noted that users risk losing their funds if their Apple password is “not strong enough” and an attacker is able to phishing their account.
